Does this look like a bad bleeder valve or broken tank?

I noticed some coolant on the floor of my trunk.
My assumption was a cracked tank, but the coolant appears to be coming from the black plastic portion. Is this a symptom of a bad bleeder valve?

if you are getting cooling in the trunk it's going to be a cracked tank 90% of the time

That was my assumption, but the fluid is coming from the very top of the black plastic, which makes me wonder if it is the bleeder. I Wish I could get a picture to post here

In the pic below, the fluid is indeed coolant.

Harbor Freight has coolant system pressure testers for a reasonable price.
They will work on any cooling system.

Agreed. Pressure testing is the quickest way to find most coolant leaks. Mine turned out to be the bleeder valve.

It looks like the plastic has turned yellow. Originally it's white. Even if it isn't cracked now, it's days are numbered and you'd be best off replacing the whole tank at a time of your choice (soon) rather than leaving the timing to fate.

Take it from someone who had one fail 50 miles in the middle of a national park (and on a mountain: great tow bill!!) do it now!

My 98's tank "gave up the ghost" last year due to tiny spider cracks on the bottom that would expand once the coolant got hot and the pressure began to build. Once it cooled down the cracks would close up and it wouldn't leak..........$875 later (spent with my "indi" mechanic) I got a new Porsche brand tank, hoses and clamps installed.
