LED lights

Hi all,

I'm still seeking tips on how to get my right brake light replaced. I've gotten conflicting information by my mechanic and Napa. I just need guidance on what to buy. The lens works with the exception of the brake light. We opened it up and the bulbs are very Tiny and connected by a harness and blue/red wires. It's not as simple as changing a bulb. I don't want to fork over the money to buy the entire lens when 1/2 of it works. Can you guys please point me in the direction of where I can get the correct part for my car?
it's a 2002 Boxster base. The lights are shown in the photo. Any help would be really appreciated.(it's the very center light on the right hand side) Thanks guys.
Mark

There is no part or bulb to replace. The control module inside the unit that powers the LEDs (the tiny bulbs you mentioned) has failed...common for these Dectane LED tail lights and there is no replacement other than replacing the entire assembly.

Your best bet is to swap out the tail lights for a normal OEM set.

You're now in Ft Leonardwood? Wow. What brought you there???

I've been there three times as part of a ~$100K child custody battle.

Yes. I won.

I bought the new assembly only to find out I now need the OEM bulb holder. And bulbs.
Any advise on that?

When I purchaed my car one of the rear assemblies was challenging me with a bulb that would spottily work. Not wanting to diagnose... bend metal to ensure a solid connection... I purchaed a new one... and have the original in a box.

It's yours. I forget which side it's from, but you can have it. I'm down the hill from you and east. 92262ish. Let me know if you'd like it.

Thanks man. I appreciate the offer. Sorry for the delayed response. Holidays and all. It's the passenger side break light. So crazy that I have to purchase an entire new lens for one bulb. I'm on the mountain. Where are you?

Gorgeous!

I saw one advertised one a couple of years ago at a small private dealership, add just said 'red'.. I thought it was Zanzabar but was not 100% sure. Drove to see it, turned out to be a wrap . oh well, search continued..

If I am ever able to order a Porsche new and can afford the "custom color" (and models you can check that box for), it most likely would be Zanzabar.

Enjoy it!

Sorry for the delay in responding.

I'm in 92284. I've the old part in the box in which the replacement came. Postage and I could mail it to you. In the alternative... I've been looking for a reason to hit the new casino in Cathedral City. You could hit the 74 into Palm Desert.
