Das Boot...a fender bender story.

I feel like the U boat commander in the movie Das Boot. I drove my car through many a battle in traffic. I know how well the steering and ABS works when used at full tilt avoiding people who pull out in front the car, don't see the car, or simply drive crazy. Only to have it get backed into while parked by a negligent driver, on the passenger door. Bummer.

Now, I do have a question....
One place planned on the buff and paint.
A place that does Porsches said due to the door being creased to the point that the
reinforcing bar can be seen, (see pic) that the door needs to be replaced. Big $$$
Is this necessarily the case? Anyone who may have insight is invited to reply. Thanks Folks!
