What are the differences between 5 & 6 Speed Half Shafts

Can anyone educate me on the differences between a 2001 Porsche Boxster 5speed vs 6speed half shafts? I see they are different part numbers, but what are the physical differences?

Both sides of my 6speed transmission flanges appear to be "pulled out" and wondering if the last owner put in used 5speed half shafts.

Thanks,

Brian

For starters, the five speed shafts are different lengths.

They can not be interchanged. Five speed stub on the right, six on the left.

JFP, sounds like the 5speed half shafts physically won't fit (shorter or longer?), so the idea of the last owner using a set of used 5speed half shafts on a 6speed trans isn't the cause of the leaks on both sides of the trans at the output shafts.

Okay new seals for the output shafts, pulling those suckers out, new seals, and pound them back in it will be!
