How big of a mess would occur if you just drop the filter before draining oil? 2 liters??
more like 1/2 l
inspect/ change $10 filter every 3,000 miles... Change oil $80 every 9,000.
waste if time, by the time material shows up, the engine is already gone.
synthetic oil doesn't go bad in 3-4000 miles. Good for at least 10,000
want to bet? Try running uoa's for tbn values, many synthetics are already more than half dead at 4-5k miles, or less, which is the optimum time to change.
