Completed my stereo upgrade and double din touch screen install.

Added 2 amps, one running the door subwoofers, one running dash (alpine replacement speakers) and suncoast rear speaker kit (pioneer speakers). Also added a double usb charger in the lighter socket, and usb and audio jack input to the head unit in the other round socket. Sounds good, but disappointed in the sound the 4 inch speakers can put out with the power they have and what 6” subs can do. May upgrade doors one day to 6.5 coaxial speakers and figure out a way to add some real bass! Also added a hd back up camera, and fixed my heater door flaps while I was in there! Pumps out the heat now!

Dash speakers that were removed sounded like crap, now I know why! The foam surrounds on each were completely gone, you shouldn’t be able to see the front grill around them!

What double DIN is that ? It doesn't have the gaudy colors most seem to have . Looks great in my opinion .

Kenwood dnx572bh unit, has built in garmin gps also. Its a 2015 model year unit but got it for a steal. Would love a newer model with apple play, but this will do for awhile.

A lot of the better head units give you a choice of display colors so that you can more or less match it to the colors of your other displays.

I do like that option. I also like the units that allow you to customize the display wallpaper. Good looking wallpaper here.

Nice work. Your amplifier installation looks especially tidy. I understand that some owners want to keep their cars "factory," but I think your enhancements blend in well.

I've done some of the same upgrades (double DIN, back up camera, new dash speakers and rear speakers.) Someday I may consider upgrading the speakers in the doors to true subwoofers.

Not 100% sure, but I think his unit uses Android Auto and Apple Carplay, so he's not relying on built-in Nav. You use Google Maps or Wayz and it just feeds right into the screen, as if you had built-in Nav. No updates needed. Google Maps and Wayz are constantly updating on their own.

Actually they are. If i were buying a new unit today, i would get one with apple car play and connect my phone and be done.

This unit has garmin gps built in, so you have to have a gps antenna connected. The gps maps are on the unit with a micro sd card plugged into the front. It had 2017 maps installed, and I just upgraded to 2020 maps off of a seller on ebay for $25. Just pop in a new sd card and your done.

Nice!!! Looks good, great write-up and visuals, thanks!
Out of curiosity why the two amps requirement? is this one of those 4/8 Ohms and 2 Ohms thing or you have something in mind for a future boom box?

Nice install. You did what i did on my doors. Did you seal up the door boxes or open them up.

I had the small mono amp already to use for just the door subs. Figured while i was in there just get rid of the factory amp and use a larger 4 channel amp for the fronts and rears. Im trying to talk my wife into letting me try out a larger sub in the frunk.
