Piper, I don't remember the exact definition, but when I think of a shooting brake, two cars come to mind:

BMW Clownshoe (Z3 M Coupe)

and Volvo P1800 ES

too funny. if you look up shooting brake on wiki, it says "The first production model shooting brake of the 21st century was the 2012 Mercedes Benz CLS-Class Shooting Brake" which is very wrong, so i added a sentence about the z3 and z4 coupes!

my faves are the clownshoes, the lotus europa and the ferrari breadvan.

Ah yes, the Lotus Europa. I remember fondly those days of tooling around in the Lotus among the fields of Hethel with my mates hunting pheasant. Shot my left foot off after my shotgun went off in the cabin. Never really missed it though. Quite.

Just sayin'..........

From Wikpedia: Shooting-brake is a car body style which originated in the 1890s as a horse-drawn wagon used to transport shooting parties with their equipment and game.[1]

I guess 21st Century shooting parties consist of a driver, a passenger and a couple shotguns. That's the modern "shooting brakes" seem to leave room for.
