I can change the AOS on my 03 S in 30 min easily. I would not buy one and then store the car. Buy one when you pull it out of storage or wait for it to fail.

If it aint broke, don't fix it. If it fails--starts to smoke it won't damage anything if you promptly get it fixed. An Indie Porsche (german car shop) could probably get you a pretty close estimate. It's do able, but tough for fat old guys with ham hands, like me. :ah:

'03 and '04 sure is a much easier job than the earlier cars!
Unless AOS is damaged, proactively changing oil, filter, and perhaps fuel filter, pollen filter, and air filter would be more effective in periodic maintenance.
