seems like i need to kick myself for trusting that indy who said my DMF was fine. should’ve just got it replaced when they were in there…

Seems I am in the same boat. My 00 S vibrates under load, and has definite play between push/pull. DMF probably the culprit. Everything else is new and double checked.

Well I may have a potential vibration solution: exhausts.

I discovered awhile back that my driver's exhaust header was aftermarket. Then it threw a P0430 "bad cat" code. Got a pair of low-mile factory catted headers from a gentleman on here, and just had them installed along with some Circuit Werks midpipes with no cats as my old midpipes were rattling badly. Well fast forward to today, and 80-90% of driveline vibration under load is gone!

A couple ideas I have is 1) the mismatched headers had different weights, which was causing an imbalance under loading 2) the old midpipes were failing internally as well as beginning to show outward signs of coming loose 3) the combination of failed internals and aging connections was manifesting itself in increasing vibrations. With the weight of the midpipe cats gone, and a fresh set of matched headers plus new mounting hardware, that source of trouble seems to be gone for good.

Add in an oil change to 5W50 and its like a new car. I am beginning to wonder how many of us are getting these nasty vibrations from old exhausts?
