what is this oil filter spring?

Most_Wanted ISSIMI Join Date: Apr 2017 Location: Bay Area CA Posts: 144	I put it back on. Put the spring piece on one end of the oil filter and inserted it into the housing till i felt it click into place. Drove 50 miles home no problems, first few miles after an oil change always has me paranoid though. looking in that rear view for an oil trail.
