FWIW, I've been shying away from looking for the 987's because of (i) the higher price and (ii) not having the option to be preemptive on the IMSB.

i. there are 06 base models out there for ~$15K and S models for ~$20K.
ii. the Gen III IMS (06-08) has <1% chance of failure.

This looks very familiar - Tail of the Dragon - from one of those photographers that sit on the edge.
I don't see much suspension compression in the front end.

BoxMann I have an '03 Boxster S, triple black manual, IMS and clutch done about 5k miles ago (have all paperwork), new top 57,000 miles I might part with for the right price. Great car but I want to go aircooled. Where are you located?

I want an S. $20k is probably above my budget. And the ones I'm looking for with under 50k miles are going for more than $20k, at least the real clean ones with an excellent demonstrated, documented service history are.
As far as the failure rate on the 987.1's, not saying you're wrong about the 1%, but I've seen numbers all over the map, just like I've seen numbers all over the map for the Gen 1 and Gen 2.
