Porsche Boxster tool help

Hi everyone,

I am trying to remove my Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor to clean it out but am having trouble. The two screws holding it in place is the regular hex/star design, which I have the tools for. However, there is a little cylinder like piece sticking up in the middle of the star that prevents my tool from inserting into it.

It seems that I need the star/hex tool with a hole in the middle in order to unscrew this particular screw.

Any idea where I can get it? Or what it is called?

I'm sorry if it sounds confusing...I can take a picture if you want. Just let me know. Thanks for your help in advance!

- Mike

They are called torx bits. I beleive it was a T-20 or T-25 that I used to get the screws out.

Technically it's called a "Safety Torx" or "Tamper Proof Torx" bit. I found a set at autozone for like $5

Hey everyone,

Thanks for your help. I dropped by Home Depot, they didn't have it. But I found them at the local Sears for 9.99 for 6 sizes.

For reference, they are called "Security Torx Set" and abbreviated TX10, TX15, TX20, etc.

Thanks!

- Mike
