Trunk Lights

I was trying to figure out why my front trunk light was not functioning. I happened to open rear trunk and front trunk light came on !! Any ideas on this phenomena would be appreciated.

I read upon this forum, just recently, that if one end is open, the other end, too, lights up.

That is 100% correct... if either end open the other lights up as well.

So if they don't light up when the front only is open, the issue most likely is the micro-switch in the front latch (common BTW). Same in reverse if rear open but light does not illuminate.

Suggest you try working it w/ some good penetrating oil (Kroil, PB Blaster, etc.) to see if it'll free up first... Otherwise you'll need to remove and check the contacts, wiring etc. Repair / replace as needed from there.

Good luck

Trunk Lights Switch

I can't find the micro switches that operate yhe trunk light, a guiding light would be appreciated (pun intended)

Follow the wires (#9).
It should be attached to the latch, but may have fallen off.
