My V1 is on a bracket between the seats, it is much less obvious than on the windshield but probably wouldn't fool a cop. My main aim was to make it less obvious to try and avoid someone breaking in to try and steal it. I'm not sure if a similar location would be effective in a four seater although I know people with 996's that have done the same.

When the hood is up you can only really see the outline of the box, you can't make out any details. Also it is attached with Velcro so it can be removed easily enough if the need arises.
