Well, I removed the old ignition switch. Key came right out. Ordered two from amazon. Will be here Tuesday. I am getting lots of experience fast on this thing.

After a decade of ownership, I am still figuring things out. I'm a pretty handy person, but admittedly not a mechanic (so I still leave any big items to the dealer); the one thing I have discovered is these cars have, um, let's just say a lot of quirks. If this were just about any other car, I wouldn't tolerate the issues, but by now it's almost as much fun as driving. As a recovering engineer, when working on anything I find myself trying to understand the thinking of the designer, and even though I spent many years working for a German company, I still have plenty of those "head shaking" moments. As your ownership continues, the only advice I can give is not to get angry, just think of it as a puzzle...a challenge that has to be completed before you are rewarded with a drive.
