Ignition lock issue please help

Ok, I bought a 1998 Boxster without the keys. I purchased all new computer, immobilizer, ignition, key, everything. I'm having a problem pushing down on the pin to release the old ignition from the steering column. Its extremely frustrating. Can anyone please help me.
