New look for the Boxster. I had to replace the rear bumper and then to seeif I can help track performance the spoiler. 56"GT style carbon fiber spoiler.

would like to hear your impressions on the effect on cornering stability and drag in the straights.

Is it me or is it offset a bit to the left?

It just looks that way in the photo. I was not straight behind car and the wide angle effect of the phone skews the image.

Looks great, looking forward to the first track report. Refresh my memory, do you have something up front too, like a splitter or GT3 front bumper?

Maybe great for track racing, but not reasonable or practicable for day-to-day street use

Wow!!! Let us know how that wing works on the track.....!

I converted to a euro bumper cover as well.....was very tempted to cut open the centre recess and grill it for cooling

Wow. That's a wing!

How did you decide on the size (56") and how high to mount it?

Neman has been the most pleasant and happy dogs we have ever owned. He is a Bichon or Poochon not exactly sure as he was rescued at 11-12 months. He looks like he was stretching just as I snapped the photo. As far as the car goes he may be mad we aren't going for a ride he loves riding in the car and the motor home even more. I'm going to call him a race fan because he has been with us to Indy races, Nascar races, Sprint races, SCCA, IMSA, continental tire and most of my DE track days.

Let just say I wanted a GT4 stlye wing. This was the closest thing I could afford. It' roughly 6" off the trunk at the front lip.
What doesn't show up very well is the side vents in the bumper cover. They should help suck hot air out from under the engine bay. They are screened and painted black just like the bumper. I though about painting them silver for some contrast (for about a second).

I thought for a wing to be effective it needs to be mounted much higher closer to the roofline.

The first one with the addition of a very serious amount of splitter area

WOW! That is the look I want for my 99! Is that wing 57? Not tracking my car street driven only. There is a guy in NM on Boxster Outlaws with similar wing. I have a spare trunk lid I plan on using I am just not sure if 57 is not too wide! Your thoughts?

Seriously thinking of shortening it and reducing the end plate size. The add said 56" it is 56.5" with the end plates.

A friend of mine bought that first one for his 2003 or 4 Boxster S to go with a big wing, and he ended up overheating on track due to reduced cooling. After a few iterations with his body shop, he went back to stock bumper and added the joe Toth splitter. It sure looked good though.
