New DRIVE SHAFT not in STOCK. Porsche says next is in 2021 ?!?!?!

Hey guys,

i got hit (made another thread here) and my car has a broken drive shaft, along with many other things...

So i went to Dealer, and they ordered all of them. Now they replied that they got the parts except the Drive Shaft (98633202415 left side ) that seems to be out of stock and next one coming will be in 2021!

How can this be possible?!

EDIT: It seems that there is another part number also for this Model: 98633202409

Which one is correct? Or both of them are?

Correct, there are two PN's for the left side driveshaft. The source that I consulted did not list any model or year preference which would imply that either part will work fine.

+1 for used. Only thing that matters is the year of your car, base or S, TIP or manual. Lots of good sources available such as Woody (Itsnotanova) or ebay.

Thanks guys. Yeah i bought a used one from TEILE... It wasnt that easy to find a used one since some of them dont ship to EU, and most of them dont have the 09 or 15 ending part numbers.

But how is it possible that the dealer couldnt get a new one from Porsche Germany?

There is a site (Design911) which i contacted to get a new one, and they said that they found almost 50+ new ones available in Germany. They told me also that the 98633202415 is the transition of 98633202409, and once all 50+ pieces are sold, Porsche will start making the 98633202415.

Any possibility that Dealer asked for the non-existent 98633202415 part number, instead of 98633202409?

Hello Lacostas,

98633202409 is the right part number for a left drive shaft for a 986 EU 03 face lift with 481 option (2.7 228 hp manual 5 speed base boxster).

There is also part number 98633202451 which is for an 986S EU 03 face lift with M008 / 249 option (3.2 260/266 hp with AT transmission).

So what model year (EU or US), engine and transmission do you have?

Regards, Markus
