Hi Fred,
So I understand, the outside scraper seal (horizontal) is binding the window? Sounds like there's too much friction on the inner side (should be soft felt). It may need to be cleaned to get it right again, same for the glass.

Woody likely has a good used seal in his inventory, I would imagine.

How does the molding look? Is it not fully seated? I've had most of the 'common Boxster problems' on my cars and haven't had this one.
Did you adjust the regulator after installing it? Look at the last step in the Pelican Parts tech article:

If the window is at the wrong angle, it will bind on the seals. Did you mark the locations of the original before you pulled it out? Try loosening the bottom connections and the pinch clamps. Then finesse it a bit and see if it helps. Did you have the same problem before the part swap? Did you get the stops in the right locations? I had a small learning curve until I got it right.
