I believe he is wrong on this. At least as of four months ago, you could buy a 6yr/70K warranty from Porsche (ie an extended factory warranty) AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE only.


-"- Some time ago Porsche used to contact owners before their 4yr warranty expired and offered them the CPO extension warranty. He's not sure they still do it."

They have not done the above for many years, according to my service manager.


"I'd have considered an extended Porsche warranty if it was available when I purchased my 06 S three months ago."

I think a lot of buyers are puzzled as to why Porsche does not sell an extended warranty to its existing customers. I believe that they are trying to prop up the value of the CPO cars they sell.

I'm puzzled now. What would be a way to get to the bottom of this? Anybody else have some input (confirmation)?
