+1 for top with glass.

I've done no mods to engine or exhaust as I've always like the way the car runs as is.

Padded and covered storage/elbow rest covers. Looks much better, and happy elbows! :)

I am glad your exhaust mod worked out well David. It was my pleasure to help.

Same here Chuck. Many mods done, but they fall into different categories. Cosmetic mods, functional mods, power mods, handling mods. Each has their own special place.

I'd have to say the most satisfying mod so far was the intake system mod. It was a very time consuming and not an easy mod that paid me back with a very nice gain in performance. I could tell right of the bat this was a great mod. I've installed NHP 200 Cells Exhaust Headers, secondary cat delete pipes and a Borla muffler. While it sounds great, but I don't feel the gain I got from the intake system upgrade mod.

After winter is over I will be putting on my Koni FSD shock and new 1" lower springs and rebuilding the suspension with new wheels and tires. So that one may take the top spot.

It's a toss-up between the Comfort Top (easiest) and 4 stalk OBC activation. (hardest) I appreciate both of them every time I drive.

Easy....

...Comfort Top. Being able to drop the top while driving is awesome.

So I looked up the Comfort Top and I see one here on the forums for $200. Is there anyone doing one cheaper?

Several typical maintenance works done during my only 17-month ownership, not much 'mod' yet but VW variable delay wiper relay is my favorite, totally plug and play, cheap and smart functionality!

I hacked the cabrio relay. Bent pin 18. Still have to have the hand brake one click up, and hold the button for the duration of the operation, but I like it.

I also bent the speed pin but I also grounded the pin that comes from the parking brake so I can lower and raise the top while moving and I don't have to lift the brake at all.

Easiest answer ever, but I suck at pictures... give me a minute

There we go. Simple 20 hp boost!

Not the same thing as a comfort top or robo-top. Those modules are "one touch" operation.

Thanks a lot! Now I've bought a relay for this mod on eBay. :)

yes, engine breathing improvements and suspension work are my top two as well. if you have access to a pst2piwis, a 996 tune is a big improvement in engine response. also in my top three are ... gt3 seats w bk direct floor mounts and harnesses (greatly improved connection to the car) OR semi-solid transmission mounts (greatly improved shifting) - can't really decide.

FSD and row M030 springs... New love and appreciation...

Center console delete
McMaster-Carr clutch helper spring
Wheel studs

Best mod is probably home brew rear toe links and drilling of strut towers. Next to no cost and allows you to actually change the feel of the car through geo.

sfkjeld 10-14-2017 12:57 AM

Is there a write up for the air horn mod?

Nine8Six 10-14-2017 05:03 AM

Favorite Mod Ever.. difficult choice. I'd say

Favorite: Thicker and much heavier steering wheel in the 320mm D.

#2 Headlights, for sure.
#3 all of the others

997 Sport Plus Seats!

Agreed on the whole "category" thing. I'd have to say from a comfort category I love my seats - without comfort and control, I just can't enjoy the drive and the stock Boxster seats didn't fit my frame correctly.

For performance, I'd have to bump +1 on the Koni+H&R Spring suspension. Although the original drop was a bit too much at first, once I installed ~1/4" of spacers above the H&R Springs, I found the ride was a perfect balance of firmness, control, and dampening without being harsh.

A few pictures added.
