I certainly can't speak for everyone - but I sure as hell didn't know about the "flaws". Until I joined this forum, I didn't know anyone else who did either.

This is a good point. I like to think that this forum has a unique balance that others like it do not.

That is to say, we do not drink the kool aid and worship at the altar, though we do admire and praise our cars for what they are.

We also do not "bash" the car endlessly for no good reason. I think we TRY to be fair and balanced in presenting with works and what does not work.

I don't think you will find that balance at the PCA for example.

Therein lies the rub... this forum seems to dwell on the flaws. We even have flaw cheerleaders who gleefully point them out at every opportunity.

Maybe you and the others you speak of didn't know about these flaws because they simply aren't as prevalent as this forum would lead you to believe. It's been pointed out that forums such as these attract people who are having problems and are seeking solutions. As such, the balance you see here is most likely skewed.

Out of the several Boxster owners in my area PCA group, NONE of them have had an RMS failure that I'm aware of. It's now time for one of the cheerleaders to give the hourly speech about how none of them have had a failure... YET!

its human nature to talk about whats wrong vs. what's right.
People also like the emotion of being adamant about something.
