HELP: O2 Sensors - part #
Hey guys, I am looking to replace the O2 sensors on my 2001 S but I need some help figuring out how many sensors I need to buy. Part numbers, how many sensors are there and location of them. Some items I read say Left and Right Downstream sensors (2) and another left and right Upsteam sensors (2)...total 4 ? Do I need to replace all 4 sensors if I get code P1130 or more likely just one side ?

Changing all four sensors needlessly is nonsense. P0130 is for the sensor ahead of the three way cat on bank 1.
Go to Sunset Porsche's parts website and enter your VIN number, the system will kick out the exact correct part number for that sensor for your car.

I am actually getting FAULT CODE p1130 not P0130

The 0130 is a typo, as was my bank info, it should be on bank 2.

Ok thanks... Is bank 2 downstream O2 sensors ?

Upstream means ahead of the three way, downstream means after the cat.

And Bosch makes the part for Porsche. So the correct part number for the Bosch part (15182) and you are good. Don't need a P-car mechanic, any muffler shop can do. They did mine on an '01S in 15 minutes and charged me appropriately. Heck 10 of those minutes were waiting for the cats to cool down on the lift so it was safe to work on.

As many others on here have also given story to, my 45 minute, change 1 sensor turned into a 4 week miserable experience....just FYI....soak that puppy in penetrant and have a tap handy...M18 I believe

I just checked my purchase records and I ordered Bosch universal 4 wire #15738 for MY02-S from EBay thru a guy Sparkautoparts. May be different for your year. Hope it helps

Can someone tell me if I should order Bosch part (15182) or (15738) ? I seem to be getting both answers to my issue... these are not cheap so I don't want to buy wrong ones....

When I look up my car on some sites I get this number for the BOSCH 13806 Downstream part... which one is correct ?

Bosch 13806 is what you want. The other part is the same sensor but without the harness, which is way more rigmarole than its worth.

This whole process of verifying the correct sensor was quite the pain I recall. You definitely want the pre cat sensor or upstream that the ECU relies on for fuel management. I see your car is 01-S. If there is no difference between our years then 15738 will work. They were not that $$ maybe $28 a piece. Cut the original wire terminals and crimp onto new universals. At that point my p1130 went away and it hasn't thrown any codes. Have you tried swapping the sensors between the banks? This may verify the faulty or marginal one. Good luck !

Replacing O2 sensors in my 02. So am I hearing correct that they are all basicly the same and that only the connecter changes? Mine has the older oval connectors on both front and back, but having a hell of a time locating parts with correct connector.
