Smashed...now what?

Hi all

I finally had the car looking close to how I wanted it.
A garbage truck driver was texting and rear ended me.
I will need to replace a lot in the rear and am thinking about fender flares or a widebody.
Has anyone done clean molded fender flares so I can get an idea how it will look.
My side skirts are already molded.
I will need a new rear bumper so I could go widebody but would prefer to mold the fender flares to it and not replace the rear fenders.

I will attach a couple of pics of my car as it was, as it sits now, and a pic of a couple of mr2's with clean fender flares done right so you can see the look I'm after.

That really sucks. Are you okay? My neck was trashed for a couple of weeks.

I am so going to be on the nightly news some day for strangling people who text and drive. I got re-ended by an idiot at work in March. We were still in the parking lot. He must have been doing +/- 25 and totaled the car behind me. Pushed her into me and caused $4200 worth of carnage to my car. I came within 6" of being pushed into the police car in front of me.

Don't be surprised if you Box is totaled.

That Spyder looks interesting. But only 3 of the 13 pics are of the damage. Hmmmm...

My first thought when I see ads like this - if it's such an easy fix, why don't you do it?

Hate to say it but I'll be surprised if your car isn't written off...

Well it was a write off.
I ended up buying the car back and got started on the repairs.
I've come to a minor road block.
I assumed I could buy the sheetmetal that goes across the rear of the trunk.
My dealer is telling me it's a part of the floor and can't be ordered on it's own.
You can buy this piece for any other car.
Is my dealer misinformed?
Does anyone know if I can order this part?

Here is a picture of the part I would like to get. It's the only way for me to be 100 % sure everything is lined up correctly. I have removed it and gotten it close but would really like a new one.

Any thoughts?

Get in touch with Woody, itsnotanova, and see if he can cut that part out of a car and will ship it to you. He doesn't ship large body parts but that might be small enough. I don't know if it would end up costing more than a whole floor from the dealer. You can check out whether or not that piece is separately available in the PET here - https://www.porsche.com/all/media/pdf/originalparts/usa/986_USA_KATALOG.pdf

Thanks PaulE

Unfortunately that part isn't listed anywhere in PET.
Back to the drawing board.

It's not this piece Panel Below Lid - Porsche (986-501-243-00-GRV) shown in the diagram on page 200 of the PDF and the part number is listed on page 201? Sunset Porsche Parts has an easy to use part locater website, they have it for $226.62.

Sorry I feel compelled to help this morning instead of work!

Well I have some news
I decided not to do the wheel flares and keep the car clean.
I removed the tacky wing and rebuilt the rear of the car.
The estimates were around 17-20 thousand but I was able to do it myself for around 3400 Canadian including parts. I ended up pocketing a healthy sum from the insurance company.......but....
I had the car finished less than an hour when someone backed into me....
Since they hit the rear quarter, I now have an excuse to flare the rear quarters.

fortunately the new taillights hadn't arrived yet so they didn't get damaged.
Thank you all for the tips on painting the front bumper grill black.
I like the look.

I will keep you posted on the wheel arches. Not sure how crazy I want to go yet.
