Rear spoiler not working at all

Hey guys. My friend bought a 1998 boxster yesterday & the spoiler does not extend at 75mph or using the manual switch in the fuse box. I checked the fuse for it andthe fuse was good. Is it possible that a sensor or a switch has gone bad? or even possibly the motor?

Thanks.

My guess is the switch, then the motor.

Let us know.

I would maybe try and bypass the switch or check for current right at the motor, but if that doesnt work you could take out the motor and hook it up to see if it will work. Just another excuse to get an aero kit spoiler or aftermarket one.

Don't forget the relays. Swap the up relay with the down relay and see if it suddenly goes up but won't come back down. If so, the relay is bad. There's a relay chart on my website under "Where Is It?"

Good luck!

switched around the relays. Still not working. Where is the switch for the spoiler activation?

It is in the bottom left of the fuse panel. Take off the fuse panel, and you will see a finger hole, and a second hole, the second hole is where the switch goes through.

Yea. That switch doenst work. All relays and fuses are good. Is this an item that will have to be replaced by a dealer?

Hi,

Remove the Fuse Panel screws and pull away to be sure that the electrical connector from the wiring harness is firmly attached to the switch...
