Any tech people out there know if you can modify PIWIS 2 to communicate with 986/996?
listed 986 as an option in menu but no love?

If it is a real PIWIS II, it is backwards compatible to the earliest cars, even before the 986 and 996..............

My guess is it is an ebay clone cable of an old durametric sold as a Piwis II

It's a Piwis 2 borrowed from an independent Porsche shop.
Trying to perform handover procedure on a 02 Boxster S.
I also have Durametric that's incapable.
To my understanding the Piwis 2 is for 05 and up but lists 986 in the menu but won't communicate. The shop doesn't have the earlier tools.
Just thought I'd ask.
The Piwis 2 comes from samtec automotive software & electronics updated to 2017.

Latest PIWIS V38.050.030 software has been tested and verified working with Porsche Tester III scanners.
