Swapping seats

Does anybody know if the drivers side seat can be swapped with the passenger side?

The seat cushions can be easily swapped. Need to keep the seat tracks on the right sides.

I swapped the leather on mine. You may find some useful information in this thread:

removing seat cushions

Will removing cushions allow access to the seat adjuster electrical connection? Trying to install new switch.
Thanks

Here's the link to the process for disassembling a 2-way power seat:http://986forum.com/forums/diy-project-guides/50255-boxster-seat-disassembly-procedure-part-1-2-a.html

It is written with the assumption that you have the seat out of the car. However, it may be possible to remove the seat bottom with the seat in the car. If you can remove the seat that will give you better access to everything.

Is your seat jammed and you cannot move it backward or forward in order to remove it? If you have 8 or 12 way power seats, the process is actually a little easier than for two-way power seats. If you absolutely must remove the seat bottom with the seat in the car you can remove the 2 small screws that hold the seat controls to the side of the seat. (There is no need to remove the height adjustment switch as with the two-way seat.)

You can then remove the control panel by lifting it up. (The top part hooks into the leather and you will need to carefully wiggle it loose.)

If that doesn't give enough access, you can unfasten the two white plastic clips under the front of the seat bottom as shown in the link.

I hope this helps.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Would really like to not have to remove the entire seat. Control panel on side is already removed.
