I've got a few more drives I hope before I have to put her to bed. Heck, 18 degrees celcius today, so had the top down for a bit!

And frankly I'd rather keep the insurance on her for those lucky few drives then lock her up already. Insurance is not that expensive, around here anyways.

75* here in New York today. Pretty wild weather here a few days back it was in the 40's.
I got to take advantage of my new to me 02 , dropped the top and took a nice ride.
Lots of Sunday garage queens on the road along with plenty of motor cycles

When storing the car outside wrapped up for the winter, should I plug up the exhaust tip? If yes, with what do you suggest? I did some searching online and I get yes and no answers so figure I would ask here.... thanks

Use some steel wool. Especially if there is no activity around the car for long periods.

I put my 2000S into storage Saturday. As I walked out of the storage facility I looked back at it, warm and protected against the arctic blasts to come under it's winter blanket of a silver car cover and thought of all the special moments over the 6200 miles covered this past season. Last week it got an oil change and two rear Pilots (drove over a screw laying in the road and shredded it - the rears had just under 20k miles on them and looked like they would need to be replaced in the Spring so very little added expense).

Anyhow, this experience was similar to when I owned a racing sailboat on Lake Michigan of leaving the boatyard where it was going to hibernate. Good memories of good times.

This "winter" thing is wonderful. Its the time of year that those of us who live in florida can finally put the tkp down every day. And we can wrench on the car without gettkng completely soaked in sweat in five minutes and eaten by mosquitos.

It's funny how you guys in warm weather climates blather on and on about dealing with temperatures below 40F and a little snow (OK, -10F or 12" of snow is inconvenient and uncomfortable, sometimes even painful) but honestly, forest fires, mudslides, hurricanes, drought, and earthquakes make a little cold and a blizzard seem like child's play. You can keep your extreme weather, I'll take a good old, enjoyable midwest winter any time and then when April rolls around the top goes down and makes the sweetness of Spring that much more enjoyable.

You might change your view when you need to deal with no power in -40C and snow & ice storms for several days! I have a feeling your tone would change pretty quick... lol

That scenario nearly happened once; it was -20F and the power went out. Wife and I camped out in sleeping bags in front of the fireplace with candles illuminating the house, water trickling out of the faucets so the pipes wouldn't freeze. The power outage only lasted one night. The next day we were back to normal, no ashes from a burning forest, no cars floated onto our lawn from the hurricane, no cracks in the earth, no sinkholes, no dried-out lake beds.

Nevertheless, and kidding aside, forces of nature are not to be trifled with and I'm already looking forward to top-down weather come April after a hopefully mild winter.

It is supposed to be in the mid 60's here for a few days. Maybe a couple 50 deg days in the next few weeks. I figure I have until just before Thanksgiving, then she goes to sleep. I need to protect her from 120+ inches of snow we get each year, not to mention who knows how much salt.

I use an old t-shirt / fabric that i put in some engine oil and put in the 2 exhaust holes. Nothing can go in and the oil prevents that the fabric gets wet.
