And they said it couldn't be done....18x11

After doing a lot of researching and obsessing over wheel sizes and fitment I landed on a combo I'm very happy with.
996 twin turbo hollow spoke wheels in 18x8 and 18x11. The tires are 225/40/18 and 265/35/18 Federal 595RS-RR. These tires run a little wide so they're more like 235/275.

The fronts have 15mm spacers (unneeded, but look better with the way the rears fit) and the rears have 13mm spacers. The rim clears the rear struts by about 2mm. The ebrake cable is tied back to the control arm but wasn't rubbing. I just did it to be safe. The 265s have a very mild stretch so that they don't extend beyond the wheel at all.

I'm lowered on bilstein struts and eibach springs and it doesn't rub at all. I thought I might have to roll the rear fenders but was delighted to find out it was unnecessary.

They don't. I was concerned they would but they tuck in just enough as the camber increases during compression. I've been hitting bumps and thrashing it through corners and so far so good.

The rears are +45. The fronts are reps and don't have it printed on the outside, so I don't recall at the moment.

It's definitely got some negative camber. I didn't adjust it for the wheels at all. It's how it was aligned when I got the car in the spring. It was on the stock 17in wheels. It may just be the result of stock settings with no adjustment to accommodate for lowering springs.

ET 45 w the spacers (ie wheel at 58 less 13 = 45) or wheel is ET 45 so w spacer offset is 32?

Looks really nice and actually that negative camber makes it work because without it the wheels would poke at the top. Nice job!!!

45 plus spacer, so 32 as you said. I could go to a 12mm spacer but any smaller would really be pushing it. It's really close to the strut.

It looks good, but I'd probably paint the wheels for more contrast. I have enjoyed the look of 20x11s on my wife's car. "Phat black sneekers" she calls them. The rear tires have rubbed the fender occasionally. Rolling the fenders a bit would probably fix that. The rears are ET 52 with a 7mm spacer, tires are 275/30. I'm probably changing to a stock-ish Victor Equipment 18" soon.

Has anyone tried to fit 993 turbo 18" hollow spokes on their 986 Boxster. They are 10" wide compare to the 11" 996 turbo wheel. I own a set and might need to use them when i refurb my OEM rims.

I´ve seen a 986 Boxster with the 997 turbo rim. I believe that they where OEM. But I don´t know. Looked quite nice on the Boxster I must say. Personally I´d like to keep the wheels to 18" on the Boxster however.

I have a set of the solid spoke heavier ones (993.362.140.04). Not sure if it has the same fitment as yours. I still have to mount tires on mine, but after reading this thread on Rennlist, I got some 20 mm spacers to mount with the rear:
 https://rennlist.com/forums/boxster-and-boxster-s-986-forum/212151-18-c4-wheels-on-986s.html
Looks like it will work. Rennlist never lies right?

Here's a chart with offsets etc:

There are a lot of knowledge on reenlist actually.

Thank you for the chart. The WB 993 turbo hollow spoke has ET40. It´s not the same fitment as yours. I figure it out if it comes to that. The wider tire of the 993 turbo wheel in combination with the wider rim. I don´t want risk them rubbing the fenders. It´s just temporarily during the refurbishment of the OEM wheels.

Seeing the pictures with the 996 turbo wheels. It looks like a close call. They are 1" wider than the 993 turbo wheels in the rear.

I'm fairly sure I'm going to paint them black and add that black PORSCHE stripe along the bottom of the car.

Hate to bring this thread back from the dead. I found some 18x11 rims with a 45 offset and 18x8 with 50 offset. Pretty sure the fronts will fit without an issue. The rears is why I’m bumping this thread.

From what I got out of this thread is that I will be needing a minimum of a 13mm spacer so it won’t kiss the struts in the back. When I use a spacer of that size, will I also need to buy extended wheel bolts to accommodate the spacers? Same goes with if I were to use the 5mm spacers they come with for the front as well?

Yes.You will need longer bolts. Certain manufacturers include the bolts with the spacer.

Would 15mm spacers in the back push it too far out and cause rubbing by any chance? Found some 15mm that includes the extended bolts. Only a 2mm difference but not sure how much room we got to play with here

you will be sticking out 2mm more than him; take a look at the rear end shot in his first post - should be ok depending on what tires you run.

lots of variables - camber, ride height, tire width will affect fender clearance. camber, ride height, wheel diameter, suspension (coilover vs strut) will affect inner clearance. we are talking very tight clearances where mm do matter. i've got 275's on 18" on the back of my car and perhaps 5 mm clearance from the inner coilover.

I’m surprised he hasn’t had to roll his fenders on that setup. If much wider, a fender roll is almost a given. Or, a bunch of negative camber.

The real rub test is straight line high speed rear bump / compression.....at least that is where I found the limiting regime.

Just also want to confirm a 19x11 fits a 986 boxster..I was unsure myself with all the talk about 19x11 will not fit. These rims I bought used for a dam low price..and figured.. if did not fit.. I could sell them 4x's what I paided for them...I do not know because these wheels are of highest end type wheels you can buy for exotic sports cars... but they came off a Porsche turbo..They fit without spacers and about 4mm gap from the strut...it fits perfect...Tires I bought are 265/30/19...no rubbing at all even over harsh bumps traveling fast. The car is lowered too with H&R springs... And probably could of put a 275 or maybe 285.. So just wanted to confirm..not sure if have to have right off set or what ever.. but they fit.... Have some 19 inch Niche Targa's for sale if anyone is interested...
