which axle stands

Would like to get some axle stands to do work on my S. Have seen some SEALLY ones on Eurocarparts site which look good ( 2 ton) , but does anyone have any other suggestions as to what ones to get. Do the axle stands need to locate in the jacking points on the car or does the curve of the stand just sit on the jacking point. Have seen some adaptor things on e bay but don't really want to waste money on them if their is no need. Thanks for any advice

I really like the Esco Equipment 10498 Jack Stand-3 Ton With Cushion.

I also use the Esco stands, they are very heavy duty, and I never felt unsafe using them. If I'm going to be crawling around under 2 tons of metal I don't want the car resting precariously on V-shaped stands, only making contact at the edges. If the Esco's are too expensive I would at least look for a stand with a flat top.

I don't use jack stands all that often since I purchased my scissor lift. But I really prefer the pin type vs. the ratchet type. And always place a wheel/tire under the car as back up in case of jack stand failure. You generally die when a jack stand fails

Which Scissor lift did you get...thinking of adding one next year

That mid engine is a long way forward of the rear of the car. Pretty scary getting that far underneath on your back.

First choice for me is a lift, maybe second those $300 jack stands that work simultaneously with your floor jack ... designed specifically for Porsches.
