Garage
I had that happen a few months ago
It turned out the "eyelet"m at the end of the solenoid cable was broken due to a frayed cable

I found a used solenoid on ebay and it's an easy DIY to replace

I found info in a search.
There was a thread on repairing it, but since the cable is stainless, it is very hard to solder

Getting to the manual release was a PITA. Remove the left rear wheel and fender lining and reach in for it. IIRC, I had to "bend" some of the heat shield to get atit

Hope I do not have to take the rear bumper off

I sincerely hope I can get to it through the wheel well, for some reason I seem h to have bad luck with trim parts on any car....I surly do not want to mess the back bumper up. Every bumper removal DIY I read started by saying open the trunk first......well that is my problem. Will have to wait for the weekend....thanks for all the help folks
