Yes, it belongs here. You however, I'm starting to question...

Thanks for the frank and candid comments, guys. However, if it wasn't clear from the sub forum name, the sub forum description should fill in the intention behind this area:

'If you have done a maintenance or upgrade project yourself, post your How-to guide here. Step-by-step please, for those who have't done it before.'

Now, the "Genral Discussions" and "Performance and Technical Chat" area would have been ideal for questions like this. And I wasn't intending to discourage questions like this from being asked, just hoping that the otherwise pretty useful DIY project guides area (and this forum, in general) could be kept more "clean".

OP, I'm glad you got your question answered. Maybe the new moderator can relocate this thread into an more appropriate area where it belongs. Or not, and we can just make this place messy and hard to use, and disorganized. Maybe we should go ahead and encourage spammers to contribute here too, while we're at it? Best of luck, guys.

Those pinkish Nylon? thingies look like a job for the 3D printer if nobody can source these anywhere for a reasonable price.

I don't see this DIY area as a library. Its an interactive forum so people will ask a question where they think the best answers will come from.

The "Forum" format IS a bit chaotic by its very nature, but anything more formal would require more moderation and discipline.
Thats why "Search" is your friend at 986forum.com.

If you want DIY library then go to the Pelican site where you can look for stuff in the technical articles library.

Lets not sweat the small stuff or discourage posting, the less experienced folks will learn by example where to put stuff as they contribute more often.

But some kind of DIY index would be very nice as the amount of valuable information amassed here is considerable.

Perhaps we could "Sticky" one Thread that contains links to all the proper DIY threads and we could sort it by criteria similar to the Pelican site with sections for Engine, Drivetrain, Steering, Body, Interior, Custom Mods etc.
