I love autobody and painting! Mostly the painting part because sanding can get old. I got your PM wanting just one bumperette. Is it to replace that one? I don't see anything wrong with the one you have? Either one you get will need work to get ready for paint. In fact I think you'll need less work on that one vs a bare black one I could send you. My suggestion is throw a coat of etching primer over it (not sure if it's needed on rubber, but it couldn't hurt) and then start using lots of filling primer. I'd probably finish with a sealer.

Thanks. I've painted it twice now and it comes out looking like my shop floor with paint on it.
Then a lump. Then a scratch. It's really not fun.
Another coat over the slightly lumpy spots.

I'm not a professional body guy but I have been painting as a hobby for 25+ years. IMO, filling primer is your friend at this stage and body filler is not

Send yours now. Then I'll do mine!
Actually, if I get this down, I'd be glad to do others! Easy once you learn Mr Miagi's putty on, sand off technique.
The poly flex comes in a jug enough to do every one on this board!

If you were not trying to color match your body paint, I would have thought this a prime candidate for a gloss black PlastiDip.
Maybe just omit the Bumperetts and get a European size/style license frame. Done!

If this doesn't get better, I'm welding wings on this car and going steam punk with big intakes and that exhaust the sticks 5' into the air from behind. Then no doors or clamshell or engine cover. Maybe a lift and my truck tires.

Thanks for that suggestion!!! It's the missing link! That's what happens when a boiler contractor tries auto body. That filler primer will make it look mint.
Appreciate that. Helped a lot.

Finished. Looks almost shop painted in person. Fantastic results. The filler primer did it!

Oh wow, that turned out great and looks to be a great match even for my seal grey. Can you post your exact parts list?
That is GT Metallic silver. The special edition got a 911 color factory. NCS matched the paint in a spray can.
I'll get all product names tomorrow. It's all at my shop. Sorry.

Looks good and I'm glad I could help. That spray can paint doesn't have hardner in it so it won't be as durable as the factory paint. Not a big deal but you'll need to be careful with it and it will start dulling sooner than the other paint.
First step, sand down to rubber. Then add this.
Then sand with 220. The fine stuff is to sand the final primer.
Then the filler primer.
Then paint. DO NOT let it run. Two even coats.
Then clear coat.
Done.
