I have yet to pass an S2000 that did not stare at my '04 S with a look of total envy. Yesterday I came up on one on a wide-open stretch of I-5 between Seattle and Portland, the driver looked over at me, backed off about 10 car lengths and I never saw him again.

As recently as two years ago Car and Driver picked the S2000 over the Boxster and 350Z as the best roadster around under $50 grand or so.

It'd be a great track car but after 7 years of VTEC motors they're just not that much fun on the street becauase they have to be wrung out to extract maximum performance.

I had an S2000 for 4 years and the peaky powerband and harsh ride were too much. I recently traded for an 06 Boxster S and am loving it so far. If the reliabilty holds up.........
