Wow, what a cool find. If it has the matching numbers engine and trans that would really be something. Unfortunately a lot of these cars were chopped up and treated like any used race car. Even so as long as it's not too far gone from rust it will be worth saving.

It has an engine which has also been modified. I'm not versed well enough to tell if it is a correct Porsche engine.
Does anyone know if they make patch panels to repair the cut quarters? I assume they do.

That's a lot of work. Would be intersting how big the holes are below these funny side skirts.
Let*s see what price the owner is asking for.
Regards & good luck!

How much downforce does the lawn edging ground effects side skirts generate?
Should I add some to the CSS? I think I have a roll in the basement.

356 b t-6
The T-6 version of the B is cool and better than the T-5 because the gas goes in without the hood having to go up. They make a lot of patch panels but you probably are asking about the rear wheel openings and I don't know about those. Look up engine number in Porsche 356 and 912 Serial Number Reference Site
The bigger rust issues will be underneath.
Good luck. Tom

I wondered about that! LOL!
I first thought the "skirts" were hiding rust holes, but I examined as closely as I could and couldn't 'see' any evidence of rust holes. Then I thought "is that supposed to be for.... aerodynamics??"
Which one is true I don't know.
I'm not sure it's even for sale yet. Haven't heard from the owner but he's supposedly out of town. It's worth a follow up visit if I don't hear from him in awhile.

Just intercom to your passengers that bad weather ahead forces you to make a small detour and roam over Arizona for a few minutes... Intel says that they are many there. The expansive ones I mean! If not then blame P9 lolll
What a team, amazing forum

Hands off Arizona. I'm already using a Cessna 172 for my search.

I know that there are folks that scour google earth looking for the silhouettes of specific vintage airplanes (ie, dc3's); perhaps the same can be done for old tarped porsches - is you ghost town on google street view?

Thanks for the extra info guys!
I really want to crawl under that thing to see the real condition of the frame.
Nice job on adding the blue one! If only it could look like that again.

Wow, now that's interesting! He's had it a few years then. How did you get an older street view shot like that? Is there a Google Maps archive?

Cool thread.
The street-view imagery is dated in the top left corner. If there is a date range of imagery available, there is a clock symbol that you can click on to view the history. Only Feb 2008 of this is available:
This reminds me of a guy I bought a Honda engine from about 5 years ago. He had an extensive Rusty VW collection mostly in barns and out buildings. I don't think that he actually did much with them other than buy them and store them. Even though I was just there to pick up the engine, we spent over an hour looking over his collection - until his wife called him in for dinner. I got a great deal on the engine, but his VW stuff was highly valued and not for sale.
Looked up his address in streetview:

Rear wing on the Mopars was aluminium. It could support the weight of pit crew.

That house is still in the unfinished state that it appears to have been 9 years ago!
I think I need to visit there again instead of waiting for a reply, with this level of procrastination!
