Thank you!! Good to know that the '98 is a good one...being not much of a car-savvy person, I am hoping that this will not give me much trouble LOL!!

Oooo...then make friends with a good indy mechanic. These cars require a lot of maintenance but that's just the nature of a German automobile. Plan for 1-2k a year in maintenance costs. If you are handy a lot of the maintenance you can do yourself. If not, find a mechanic because the Porsche dealer will take your house in costs if you let them.

I am on the hunt now for a good Porsche mechanic here in Southern California. We have a very good mechanic right now that service our BMW...I will ask if he can also do Porsche cars.

Two cars in one

Nice color, lol mine is white with tan top and interior. The top is down almost all the time and it is a different car from driving with the top up. My advice to you is read about how to exercise the motor which by the way is rather small but more than enough if you keep the rpm up. This car is amazing, enjoy.:dance:

Wow I didn't know I have to exercise the motor...I will read up on it. I only drive a total of 6 miles to and from work so I don't know how much exercise he can get with that unless I always go from 0-60 in 6 seconds in each stop light LOL!!

Welcome, I'll 2nd the PCA membership. Zone 8 is really active. Lots of events, track days, DE, etc. A lot of dealers will provide a 10% discount, if you show your card. Plus, the PCA throws in a subscription to PANORAMA.

If you can't have silver, I suppose white is a good alternate.

Happy Motoring

No luggin allowed

Since the motor is smaller the rpm must be kept up to not put strain on it. The mistake people make is they shift out way to early and lug the motor around. I don't shift until between three and four grand on the average. It may sound like you are reving the car to death but you aren't , this car was made to drive it like you stole it .
