A while back there was a genuine Porsche wood shipping crate for Boxster hardtop for sale on eBay. Hilariously, the seller wouldn't ship it.

Noting several current ads here by folks seeking hardtops, I'd suggest that in the long run you're going to drive your car to pick it up.

These things are more than 4 feet wide and more than 4 feet long, so pickup or SUV transport will be complicated. Easiest, safest way to retrieve one is mounted to your Boxster IMHO.

So, while you're waiting for the right deal, be ready with spinlocks already installed.

I hauled one from LA back to Wyoming in my F-250 pickup truck with no problem.
