beech -

in fact, my thread is a bit more sarcastic than i actually was at the dealer. and, much like i try to gather a ton of info from my patients, i described as much as i could about the vibration, knowing that unlike a car that doesn't start or has blue smoke coming from the engine, determining the nature of a 'shimmy' could be difficult.

so, my frustration lies in the fact that i felt i was being blown off and that they were suggesting there mustn't be a vibration because porsche's have stiff suspensions and this is my first porsche, so i obviously can't tell a normal vibration from an abnormal vibration.

i guess i look at porsche ownership a little bit like plastic surgery - you can pick the guy down the street in the strip mall to do your wife's boob job or you can pick dr 90210. the guy down the street has green astroturf in his office and a 75 year old receptionist and his bedside manner is bland at best. with dr 90210 you know he's a bit full of himself, but you're gonna get the pizazz along with the talent. for $52k i think there should be pizazz and talent - that's part of the price, that's part of why you're willing to buy that car vs the really fun honda!
