Anyone with later model VW Golf GTI ownership experience?

What years are you talking about? I have an Audi A3 as a daily... Basically the same car with pretty rings.

Thinking the 2010 version.Drove that particular car when brand new and was a hoot.

That's the TFSI engine, lots of fixes over the 2006-2008 FSI engine plus a timing chain, not belt. I'd look for a 2009 or newer, the TFSI is just less to take care of. I have the FSI in my Audi, I've replaced most of the engine to get it to 202,000 miles. Still a great little car though.
