If I were to insert my opinion here, both comments are equally disrespectful, so no harm, right?

If he's such a contributor why is he throwing up on my comment?
He should suggest another alternative or relay the negative effects of the swap. Something positive.
Come on, sometimes I feel like I am older than you folks just by reading what you guys post.

+1
At 43 years old I may not be considered the younger crowd but this is my mentality. To own a Porsche, in my neck of the woods, that makes me unique. To own a modified Porsche, even more so...

Weren't you the one who said bone stock was the "old man approach"? That's just as disrespectful.

Of course my comment is disrespectful! In the same way a soccer mom drives a shiny new 911 to drop her kids at the soccer field.

My father is 56, I am 24.
He has a 911 and he does say he's an old man because all he did on it since brand new was wrap it in a clear thick wrap. He was telling me that in the 80's he modded VW rabbits, GTIs, but as he gets older he grew out of it.
So my dad kinda agrees on that point of view but his heart is younger than his body

I don't understand this discussion. Almost all the posts seem to be saying "I want you to like what i'm doing with my car (leaving stock, adding mods, etc.).
It is your car. It's your money and time. Do with it whatever you want (as long as it is legal, doesn't hurt anyone else).
My preference is to leave my Boxster stock but your preference may be different so have a good time with it. That's what these cars are for - to enjoy, not to evangelize that everyone should do what I do.
Rant over.

This thread has been completely irrelevant (for the reasons you stated) since the first post.
Who cares, it's your time and money.. Well said

I guess I'm the old man modder cause I bought my '99 Box, with 74K miles, at 62 and drove the piss out of it on track, AX and twisty back roads. After a year I put the LN IMS and updated RMS in then went to the ROW M030 suspension, big red S brakes, GT3 air ducts, EVOM CAI, Fabspeed headers, Dansk Sport exhaust and a whole host of mods to lighting and interior. My last two mods are a GAAH glass window top and 18" Carrera wheels. My Box has gone from outlaw look back to clean and slightly stock look. Age has nothing to do with how one feels about something or their passion to create a unique and individual whatever (in this case a car) for themselves. Keep On Boxsterin'.

Based on you car color choices and previous PORSCHE decal selection, it is plainly evident that you are man of superb taste, with a very high IQ and the life of the party no doubt.
You might consider removing the red carpeting inside and swithcing for dark grey

[QUOTE=Mr.JonathanLanda;459835]I grew up taking things apart and putting them back together to make them do what I want them to do.
Now that I am older, I cannot stop doing the same thing. Hey if you have the money you can mess it up and fix it right up.
My father has his 997.2 c4s bone stock and he loves what I have done to the car in less than 24hrs owned. He says that I'll eventually grow out of it and when I'm older I won't mess with it.
He encourages creativity by helping me individualize my vehicle, therefore getting to know me better while helping me with "my bs".
Put it this way, father and son Porsche time.
I swear, give me a year or 50k more miles and we will put a Chevy 6.2 V8 in it.
Sounds like he has a lot of work to do Newbie! You are quickly making yourself irrelevant!
