Pet's in cars thread?
What happened to the Pets in cars thread? Where'd it go? Aiden wants to say hi! This was a couple of weeks ago when I was trying to get him to the groomer. He didn't want to go in the Jeep...

Woohoo Go Sparky!!! My wife and I used to have several Italian Greyhounds. Awesome little dogs. I had collies growing up and this is our second one that we've adopted. Both through the Collie Rescue League of New England.

I just had my 120 lb German Shepherd in mine. My 70 lb German Shepherd has tried to jump out before so his Boxster privileges has gone away.

Turbo, the Basset Hound. He was one of the reasons I got my 996! He loves riding in the car and fits very well into the back seats.

Ben fits in perfectly! He's very good at leaning into the corners.

Last golden retriever we had jumped into my boxster and scratched it all up so that was never allowed again. Paid waaaaay too much for new seats, door cards, center console, etc.
And worst of all I had a blanket covering most everything just in case she got rambunctious.
Now I will go find a pic of my new golden in the back cabin area of my F150 and post it!

Louis, 90 pounds estimated as 'mostly Basset', gets to ride in the old Del Sol. He gets a little too drooly to be in my Boxster.

They actually make dog seatbelts to keep them in place, and you can get booties so their nails don't tear things up.

My dog rides in the Xterra all the time. Never tried to get him into the Boxster. He is ~90 pounds and sheds a lot. I figured I have enough work to do already without having to clean the hair from another vehicle. Especially those tight places in our cars.

I live in Key West Florida where the motto is "One Human Family", gay, straight it doesn't matter. If riding on trips with my dog makes me "gay" so be it.
This is Penn my Miniature Poodle. When we go on vacation sometimes my wife takes her car with the female dog and Penn and I travel in the Porsche. We jam out to great tunes like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Aerosmith (just some of our playlist) Penn is wearing his harness that clips onto the seat belt and after a bit of time he tends to fall asleep with his stuffed toy.

I've seen a dog jump out the window of a moving car that was in front of me....wasn't pretty. And lots of stories of accidents where animals are thrown out of the car because they aren't buckled in. If you love your pet, why wouldn't you protect them?

Not sure how dangerous the passenger airbag is to pets riding in the car. Consider deactivating it. I did by purchasing a used child seat bar, installed it with the longer seat bolts and had the local Indie reprogram the car for a child seat. When the dog is in the car, the buckle is in the bar's receptacle. When a person is in the seat, the buckle comes out. 2 second effort to change from on to off and the reverse
PS: Bought a seat belt harness from PetCo. The dog is always belted in when driving - both top up and top down

I like it, too many pets are treated as lawn fixtures
