Shop manuals???!!!!

Some people's kids!!

So a very gracious member here shared a set of manuals. They were printed in 1998 so no 6-speed trans.

So I search for them. I find two or more that advertise 1998-2004 and one is 2000-2004. I buy one, then the other, and BOTH are printed in 1998-1999, and have zero revisions, and not my trans obviously.

I asked both how a manual printed in 1998 was supposed to cover 2004 parts as advertised??

Where can I find current ones?????

Related, have you looked into the PDF ones on eBay? Only 20-30 bucks...claim to be the same...tempting.

These are what I bought. Two.

They are real PDF shop manuals, but older. Both said printed in 1998 and 1999. Must be a ton of those around.

I'd like to buy the factory shop manuals that cover the 2004. The real ones. I have the Bentley and 101.

The PDF ones are all circa 1999, I bought one for around $10 on DVD, then later found a free download of the same stuff. (no idea from where at this time)

It is useful, but as JFP in PA has said, it is missing all the updates.

I have been tempted to buy theses so-called 'Complete Sets' but without the updates they are not worth much. How would you know if all the updates and supplements are included ?
A wise man already said :"And should have another volume of just updates if it is complete......"
Now id anyone had a complete set of updates - that would be useful !
Or a pdf with all the updates.
Please note the EBay sellers never seem to know what updates(if any)are/are not included in their Listing.

Timco find a 2005 -2008 shop set. It will be very close to your car over all. I used one to rebuild my engines as reference material because just like you found out the 2000 to 2004 are all wrong for a 2003 or 2004. If you cant find one PM me I have the PDF version.

Back when these were in print, when you spent the $2300 for the 13 volumes, you were put on the update mailing list. There were a lot of updates for all of the manual sets, which is not unusual. My 996 set alone has over 100 separate updates.
