Try pressure testing it to around 18 PSIG and see what happens. I really dislike aftermarket tanks.

My friend just purchased an aftermarket tank from ebay and had coolant going out the overflow as soon as the motor got warm. I suggested removing the over-pressure valve to inspect it and found there were no "O" rings, the small and large "O" rings were missing! Wow...
