Replace soft top and frame

Looking to replace my soft top and frame on my 2001 boxster. I found a 2006 soft top and frame with glass window. Will this roof plug and play? Are the windows different? Could not find anywhere on the internet.
Please help
Thank you

A 987 top won't fit.
More info here

Your best bet is to find a complete top assembly from a 2003/2004, or to replace the top with a new soft top with glass (keeping your existing frame)

I believe that if the door glass is also changed the 987 type, the 987 roof will fit correctly. I may be wrong, however.

+3 won't fit. Find top/frame from 1997-2004 or put a new top on your frame.

Question on the new soft top install

Hi,
I have a 2000 Boxster S with the plastic back window. I always wanted to replace it witht he glass and defroster. Found a guy selling Haartz German A5 Singed cloth convertible top new in the box with glass window that he said will fit 97- 02. I have 4 questions:
1. how can the glass window fit without changing The frame when the plastic window folds?
2. if it does fit somehow, is $500.00 he is asking for it a good price?
3. How hard is it to install the top by myself/with friend or should I take it to the professional.
4. if its better to take it to a shop, what is the average price for install?

Thank you.

It will fit because the glass is smaller than the plastic window.
These tops are all over ebay, check it out to see if you get a good deal or not. There is plenty of information and how to install the top on this site.
