Exhaust tube for the garage ideas?
Working in my garage, waiting for the spring to eventually come to the frozen north. I'm fixing a few things and need to run the motor a bit. I've used an extendable aluminium dryer tube to exhaust to outside but it's hard to get a good seal around the dual exhaust pipes (3.2 l). Any clever ideas?

Besides a CO detector, consider using an extractor fan in your exhaust duct near where it exits the building. Cheap insurance to prevent wind or other things from forcing the fumes back into the shop. We use them in the shop and they save you from any problems.

Yes, I do have a CO detector but not a fan. That's a good idea. I'm still looking for a way to couple the twin exhaust to the tube though. Maybe some rubber plumbing fittings or something.

The fan should create enough of a vacuum to collect the fumes....

If the tube going to the outside has negative pressure in it due to the extractor fan, it does not have to fit tightly to the car's exhaust system. We have multiple exhaust ducts in the shop and they have to work with anything that comes in the door, so getting them to fit tightly would take too much time. With the extractor running, it is never a problem.
