If the tube going to the outside has negative pressure in it due to the extractor fan, it does not have to fit tightly to the car's exhaust system. We have multiple exhaust ducts in the shop and they have to work with anything that comes in the door, so getting them to fit tightly would take too much time. With the extractor running, it is never a problem.
