From what I've seen on my cars, there's two different style of transmissions and studs. One style goes from 97-99 and the other is 00-04. I like the 97-99 style better because it doesn't have that crappy plastic gear inside. The mounting studs are different too. Looking at your stud, it looks like it's for the 00-04 type transmission. The "bolt" part of the stud is thicker on 00-04 vs the 97-99. If you look at our pictures you can see the difference. Every 97-99 boxster I've seen has the thin stud with the cast transmission. Do you have a pic of your trans?
