You ever figure out where the bolt had come from?
I can't find any spot that it was missing from. The engine had about 120K miles on it, so I don't think that it came from the factory with a 'spare' bolt in the case. It remains a mystery. (Now I really want to drop the pans on my good engines just for peace of mind.)

Bob, as noted in the pm, here are pics of the oil pump. Obvious scoring around where the gears rotate, but to me it all looks functional. I will give it a quick run in the parts washer at my office if you want it - I just noticed the dog hair on the gears in the pic :
