Where did you buy your aftermarket wheels from?

I can't get the wheels I was looking at in the width that I want. So I'm on the hunt for another set of wheels.

Where did you guys buy your aftermarket wheels from? Please provide a link.

Thanks.

Let's do like that, pick one style and I'll ship them to you in your size lol

Theresomewheelsforyou......

EDIT: removed the grabs (in respect to sellers overseas). You should have received those grabs/links in an email anyway (copy/paste that in your browser to review)

Please, somebody. If you bought some aftermarket wheels for your Boxster, where did you buy them from?

Few questions you want to ask yourself first

- For the look only (e.g. cast wheels from ebay)
- For the look + performance (e.g. forged, ADV, OZ, Champion, etc)
- Concave style or wide with a lip
- Meshed style, spoked style
- Custom made (colors, anodized, stamped, 1pc, 2 pcs wheels, etc)

So...

What are you and your boxster into?

and...

What is your budget for a set of wheels? if I may ask

Once you put down those I'm sure a few here will be able to give you a hand with your search.

I've stupidly posted screen grabs of hundreds of Porsche wheels (cast) that you find here direct from the manufacturers. They were the same wheels you find on ebay today but at 80% cheaper. I've deleted those visuals because it was unfair to those trying to sell them overseas e.g those sellers who are importing those cast wheels, pay tremendous amount of cash for transport (sea & freight), clearance agencies fees, customs, tariffs and other taxes. A wheel that we get for $50 here can quickly go up to $500 in the states - or once advertised on ebay.

My sincere apologies for this... not sure what went wrong there, and won't do it again

I want to go window shopping! I want to see what else is out there for the Boxster.

For the right wheels I'd be willing to put some money at them.

I've done several search types on Google and I get the same wheels. Google is becoming useless.

I want 8.5x19" front and 10 or 10.5x19" rear wheels. I want them to be black, but if I have to go get them powder coated I can do that to if I truly love the set.

All my searching I've come down to a pair on eBay. Right size, offset just about right, but the wheels just are not grabbing me.

19"x8 5" 10" 5x130 ET50 42 Matte Black Machined Face Staggered Wheels Rims | eBay

I'd have to get these powder coated to all black, but I don't like how the spokes flare out from the center (the V shape).

Even though this set has the V style to them they are not as pronounced and the spokes are curved, which I like, but I the seller only has the rears in 9.5 and 11" wheels.

This is a style I really like. Two spokes next to each other going straight out to the wheel. Leaves lots of room to view the sweet brake calipers and rotors on the Boxster S.

but the seller only has the rears in 9.5 or 11' wheels.

Thanks for the suggestion and a nice looking wheel, but those only go up to 18". I've looked through what Tire Rack has to offer for the Boxster S.

I just ran across these.

19 inch Black Mesh Wheels Rims Fit Porsche Cayman 911 Carrera Boxster | eBay

My car originally came with the Carrera Light wheels, but when I bought the car those wheels were off the car. Looking at this post here.

http://986forum.com/forums/boxster-parts-sale-wanted/54450-fs-porsche-boxster-18-carrera-light-ps2.html

The size and offset of the Carrera Light wheels are.

Fronts are 18 x 7.5 ET50
Rears are 18 x 9 ET52

The size and offset of the new wheels are.

Fronts are 19 x 8.5 ET42
Rears are 19 x 10 ET42

So I would run a 5mm spacer on the front and 3mm spacer on the rear?

Front

Rear

Does this sound right?

EDIT: I'm going to run 235/35R19 on the front and 275/30R19 on the rear. May need to up the spacer size with these tires?

No advise on the particular wheels, but I often check eBay and Amazon for purchases like that. Often the same vendor sells on both, but may have a promotion or discount on one and not the other.

Trust me, you don't want to put on 19*10.5" wheels made out of cast metal on a little boxster. They are extremely heavy... spoked or not. You'll see your gas consumption bill almost doubling not to mention the lack of power (ask me how I know). Had those heavy wheels once - and glad they are gone now.

If you ask me, the 9.5 is what you want, I wouldn't go wider than that for a cast wheel. In the 19" sizes anyway. Might be different for the 18" dunno
