If your Boxster s 6 speed fill plug is stuck, try this

I decided to change the transmission oil on my '02 S the other day. Like an idiot, I ignored the advice to check the fill plug BEFORE draining the fluid. Sure enough, the %#£{|# fill plug was stuck. Tried everything- valve griinding compound on the 10mm bit, heat, pblaster, vice grips, hammer, punch, bigger hammer.... nothing worked.
Finally, i decided to pound a bigger hex bit into the plug and see what would happen. All I had was a 3/8 hex bit and it fit right in. No hammer. When I put tension on it, it held. Long story short, the 3/8 bit was the perfect solution. I applied torque with a pipe slipped over the socket wrench and the plug came loose. Piece of cake! Wish I had tried this sooner.
